May Franzen is an artist and illustrator working with sequential images: artist books and comics. Drawing is the core of her practice: a slow, manual process through which she observes and documents the reality.

Her work engages with questions of animal rights, ecology, and human responsibility by placing images in deliberate relation to one another. Through juxtaposition—between species, scales, and viewpoints — her drawings reveal shifts in perception and unsettle familiar hierarchies. Rather than communicating fixed messages, the works open spaces of ambiguity and reflection.
